It's that magical time of year in Texas when the bluebonnets start appearing on the side of highways and in farmers' fields. City dwellers from all over Houston and the surrounding burbs hop in the car and race like mad to the hills, hoping for a glimpse of these pretty things. It's a beautiful sight if you can time it just right. I'd say we picked the right time to go, even if it was a little gloomy. And even if Patrick wanted nothing to do with the bluebonnets. We even found our way to beautiful Chappell Hill, Texas for a little rest stop. The town was just prepping for its annual bluebonnet festival and all the shops were bustling. I love Texas in the spring time!
