Walk in the Park

On the days when its just me and Patrick, we try our best to find somewhere new to explore (and get out all that extra energy). The other day we discovered a new park, tucked away behind the lake, with lots of challenging playground equipment, a great big green field and a giant sand pit. We spent about three hours there because the sun was shining, but it was still nice and cool. And the thought of going home to a messy house, with approximately 20 loads of laundry to be done, seemed like a depressing place to spend the morning. Personally, I think the best of me comes through when I am outside with Patrick. I’m not distracted by a gizmo (camera doesn’t count in my book), a mess to clean or the next item on my to-do list. And of course Patrick is most happy outdoors. And when we return home, Patrick is ready for his nap and I don’t feel so blah about doing all that laundry!
